Healthier Alternatives Article 1

If you'd like to be able to clean around the house for less, and do it without the harsh chemicals of those store bought brands, my recommendation would be to get yourself one of the following fresh herbs: Lavender, Eucalyptus, Juniper, Sage, Thyme, or Rosemary. Put them in a pot of water and simmer for around 30 minutes. The amount of water you use will in the end have an effect on the strength of the solution and on the disinfectant properties as well. Remember in this case, less is more. They will smell a lot stronger and be more potent with less water. Strain the herbs from the liquid and pour the water into a spray bottle. If you want it to cut grease, add a little dash of natural soap to it, but remember, never use any of this on glass as it will cause it to streak instead of shine.
