St. John's Wort


Hypericum perforatum, otherwise known as Tipton's Weed or Klamath weed, is widely used as a means to treat depression. In some countries it's used to treat mild depressions in kids and young adults. It wasn't until recently that scientists have discovered that St. John's Wort may also be a remedy to treat alcoholism, though further testing needs to be done to determin doseage and safety.

Using St. John's Wort to treat depression could in fact be a cost saver and healthier for some people. As with any supliment of course, it's stressed that you speak to your doctor before begining any regime that includes herbal alternatives. Now as the cool weather sets in, some people will start to feel the effects of seasonal depression. You may want to try an alternative this year to taking the anti-depressants created by chemcials and stick to a more natural approach with St. John's Wort.
