To Fight A Cold

There are always going to be those old herbal remedies and tonics to help fight a cold but there are some things that should be common sense to everyone, but unfortunately we rarely take into account when we get sick.

Sleep!

First and foremost this is the best weapon against a cold. Resting allows your body to heal itself, replenish antibodies and to let them work out the details of the war inside on their own. (Which is nature's way of course!)

Drink Plenty of Fluids

Staying hydrated also helps to combat a cold or virus. Especially if you have been sweating or vomiting. Keeping you hydrated also flushes out contaminants quicker and could help to alleviate congestion.

Eat More Garlic

Yes that's right! Eating garlic can help to ward off flu and bacteria. (Your friends too and lets not forget about the vampires!) This small little bulb helps lower high blood pressure, prevents hardening of the arteries and lessens cholesterol buildup in the heart. We also know it is antibacterial and antifungal. So get to cooking!
